Happy new year 2020 everyone! Alhamdulillah, I hope it’s not too late to wish you a year full of joy and success, filled with memories that’ll make us a better person inside out InshaAllah. Looking back to 2019, I have learned so many lessons, tried new things, got married and explore new places. It was a journey of losing myself and finding it again. And I made it through. I made sure to spend time with my loved ones as we are returning to Japan after the wedding receptions.

I am writing this a few days after I headed back to Japan from my new year break in Malaysia. My husband and I had a packed but fun times back home, we had two wedding receptions, wedding photoshoots, short honeymoon in a beautiful island and spent time with family and friends. Also, my brother got married! Now all three of us are married and my parents can sit back and enjoy passing time relaxing. In the midst of those events we even got sick due to the heat and lack of water. After gallons of water and countless soluble vitamin C we got back on our feet and managed to enjoyed good food and good times.
Although it is still the very early times of the year, we have been hearing unfortunate issues from all around the world and I would be lying if I say I’m not concerned. The devastating fire in Australia, US-Iran never ending conflict, raids, crimes. If you ask me, like everybody else’s inner child, we want peace and harmony world to live in. But humans are complex, and it seems like an impossible thing to achieve since the beginning of humanity. Is peace even achievable?

New decade is coming and things are changing very fast, both the good and the bad. New industries are growing so rapidly, everyone’s taking chances, or risks; as some may call them.
Instead of a new, fresh start, I aim for a betterment of previous routines because a 180 degree change could be tiring and leads to inconsistency. This year is all about progress and re-learning things I have been forgetting or not paying attention enough. Little things that make actual difference. Which reminds me of my simple resolutions in 2018.
I do admit as a Malaysian I often cook meals in coconut milk and use so much oil. Concerned about our health, I started incorporating more veggies and less oil while cooking. Husband and I both enjoy chicken so I need to think of new ways to spice up my cooking in a healthy way every now and then. It’s winter time and we tend to eat more than usual. Guilty as charged.
One thing I would like to improve greatly by the end of this year is to not be bothered by what other people think of me and enjoy the little moments more. To be aware, but not to overthink. I’ve wasted so much time calculating and taking people’s opinions too personally. To think of all my wasted energy and time towards unnecessary thoughts..
It is completely okay to feel less because to some, you have so much more. The grass is always, always greener on the other side. Focus on yourself while trying to be kind to others. That’s how you radiate peace from within.
glow, girl
